In our Chicken and Broccoli Pizza Post we spoke about our favorite pizza spots in New York City and how Chef Alex grew up with a love/ hate of pizza. Well now we will be talking about our Sous Chef Matthew’s love/hate relationship with pizza. Just mommy like son right?

In the picture below we did add some left over cooked chicken we happened to have on hand but usually when we make Veggie Pizza it is just pepper and spinach on it with a pretend Lion hiding in the bushes.

Matthew isn’t the biggest pizza eater either but there are 3 types he does enjoy the most when we do make it. They are classic, aa cheese, Grandma’s pizza (different way of layering on such and cheese) and Veggie Pizza.

We started making Veggie Pizza, or as Matthew refers to it as Lion Pizza, when he was about 2.5 /3 years old. We were doing a Lion King Movie night. We love theming up our Movie night meals to pair with what we watch.

Lion King was one of the first movies we ever did a themed meal too. It was so much fun, made it healthy and we had a blast watching all of the animated Lion King Movies. We still haven’t seen the live action film but we should.

Check out our #MovieNightFridays for more fun ideas and we hope you enjoy your Pizza.

I'm the mom to Matthew, which we run and own Matthew's Kitchen. I'm 27 and studying to be a pastry chef. I love to cook and bake but my passion is in the pastry arts. Matthew is a 5 year old who began cooking when he was 1. Through the years he has not only gained valuable skills but has grown his palette. Together we want to share our passion for food with you and your family
