Beauty and the Beast Movie Night
It is Friday, and you know what that means right? It is #movienightfriday and this week while its been snowing and cold up here in the Catskill mountains (yes unofficially we have been up here full time), we thought it would be fun to do a Beauty and the Beast movie night. We do not live in a castle, and while sometimes I dream of it, I am grateful we don’t because castle stay cooler with the stone.

But we get to warm up by the fire just like they do in the film, and with warm delicious food as we watch. Since we have our own fireplace here at the cabin, I know many of you don’t. I found some beauty and the beast fireplace ambiences to share with you.
Now as we can see above, Beauty and the beast was set in Alsace, France in the animated and part of the live action film. There were also a scene in the live action in Paris, France. So we brought out our map to look for these places. Then we used google maps and tried to figure out the distances. The castle that inspired the film was The Chateau de Chambord located in the Loire Valley. As you can see from the maps below, it isn’t the most realistic in the films, which is common, but a lot of films are inspired by real places you can see.

We even found a virtual tour of the real castle the film was inspired by.
And VR (Virtual reality) of the films.
Then we got started on our menu. We honestly love French food. Matthew and I are both fluent. I grew up with a semi fluent household (long story on that) but I took French throughout my schooling and continued into adulthood, now I share it with Matthew. Anyway, we bring you some fun and delicious recipes to add to your menu to make before you enjoy the films. Which by the way, you may not know this but besides the animated and live action versions. There are two midquels called Beauty and the Beast: Enchanted Christmas and Beauty and the Beast: Belle’s Magical World, both are on Disney +.

We love using the Happy Color App in addition for our lessons. Here are the finished pictures from the app.

We also added our coloring pages, worksheets and projects down in our subscription service, which you can access below.

Another interesting post. I saw the 1940s adaptation by Jean Cocteau which was very good and more accurate to the source material.
There are so many, honestly despite accuracy, I just loved the Disney versions, both animated and live action. I felt more of a connection with Belle
Of course. I haven’t seen the live action version, so I can’t say anything about that. I did enjoy the arthouse take of Cocteau’s version.
