It’s #TuesdayTips and while summer is officially coming to an end shortly, that doesn’t mean the bees fully go away. I know that sounds strange as they cluster in their hives all fall and winter once the temperature goes below 50 F. What you may not know is that at the end of Summer, half the hive goes to form a new hive within 6 mile radius. Just stay inside if you see a swarm, we have dealt with this yearly at our cabin and it’s quite the sight to see.
Speaking of which, we have a running joke as we have this ongoing honeybee infestation in our roof. When the weather is warm enough the honey drip down by our table, all we would have to do is put a jar down. But we go to a local honey farm to buy our honey and honey candy. My kiddo can also check out the hive and their little educational center they have. You can too through explore.org. Checkout this webcam of bees below and enjoy the recipes we have gathered.
