The smell of New England Clam chowder always brings us back to our memories of our Maine Vacations. My parents (Nana and Poppop) have been going to Ogunquit, Maine since the mid 80s. Once I was born the took me yearly until 2001 when my parents purchased a second home in upstate New York, which is where we live now. However we still went to visit on occasion because my Aunt Kate lived in York, Maine (one town north of Ogunquit) until we began going yearly again in 2009 when we found an awesome deal at the Sea Chambers Hotel.
Since then we go yearly for Thanksgiving. Even when Matthew was a baby we went and he grew to love our beach vacations despite the cold. Unfortunately we had to cancel due to COVID-19 last year but we still wanted to honor our beach time so we drove to Cooperstown on a nice day and had a picnic Glimmerglass beach. During the weekend of Thanksgiving we also made Lobster Bisque, Lobster Rolls and our favorite, Clam Chowder.
