New York City Field Trip Ideas

On our Monday night live on Homeschooling in NYC, we covered field trips both city based and state based. There were hundreds of ideas, so I will be breaking them up into different groups because covering it all will take absolutely forever. I just want to remind you all that even if it is not a museum or exhibit, doesn’t mean it can not count as a field trip. Everywhere has history and other aspects to learning you can incorporate. For example, going to the grocery store can involve nutrition and balancing finances/budget. A trip to the park can be P.E. Taking a walk through a neighborhood you can talk about the culture, the history, dynamics, gardens (lower east side has a lot) and much more. Also there are so many opportunities not just in New York City, or within the state. If you can travel, it is a great experience but there are virtual tours as well you can look into as well.

*Just a note I will continue adding to this list as time goes, I wanted to get you all started with ideas.*

    • Thank you, I’ll keep adding and I’ll have a separate NYS based post coming shortly. There are just so many places to see/use that it’s hard to fit it all into one post lol
