It’s #movienightfriday and we are having fun with Onward, now the lesson on this one is English Language arts based beyond the menu planning. We did throw in some other arts to have more fun but thats okay.

Anyway, Onward has tons of references to Lord of the Rings, which we did have fun listening to the audiobooks to and watching the films during the week for references, which was perfect for a rainy week.It is darker, so this portion I would save for older kids, same thing with the references to Guardians of the Galaxy, which Chris Pratt played Barley in Onward and Starlord in Guardians.

You can find all the references in our book, The Disney Pixar Connection, which covers film history, theories and Easter eggs (references).

We then worked on map making and how cartography works. We drew on paper and used Inkharnate on the computer.

We finally went through the basic 5 W questions of Who, What, Where, When and Why to finish off our lesson.
