This week for our #Tuesdaytips post we are covering peaches, as they too are in season. I’m not the biggest fan of peaches, nor is my kiddo but we are working on adding more to our list. Working with a new ingredient at a time, we try 15 times in different meals, days not all in a row, before we decide if its something we like or not. The magic number of 15 allows chances to try again, that is what pediatricians and nutritionists harp on when it comes to feeding kids. I can tell you from experience as a parent, chef and teacher that this is very true. And yes sometimes things change and one day your child will like something and the next not like it. I know how frustrating that can be, but it is completely normal. It is okay to allow them to try a bite or two and have them move on to a food you know they will eat. This actually allows them to trust you more but also not give them eating disorders. So give the recipes below a try and see what works best for your kiddos.

FRESH BLUEBERRY PEACH PIE – Pandemonium Noshery

” With the 4th of July this week I wanted to share a summer favorite. I used to eat this as a kid in the summer when peaches were ripe. As an adult I moved to Georgia where peaches are a staple, the stae is one of the top four peach producing states in the nation. They are in everything from candy, to baked goods but they also make an appearance in savory dishes like salsa and BBQ sauce. Peaches, a member of the rose family, are originally from China. They were introduced to Europe and then made their way to Georgia in the 1500’s. They were first introduced to this country by Franciscan monks on St. Simons Island, a tourist hot spot just off the coast of southern Georgia. Though they were first planted on the coast, now most large scale groves are in the western part of the state.” – Juli
