Raya and the Last Dragon Movie Night

It is #Movienightfriday and Raya and the Last Dragon is out. I did get the VIP access on Disney + which was soooo worth it. We absolutely loved this film for so many reasons. We were non stop laughing. The color and southeast Asian influences were clear throughout the movie which is great for a lesson. While Raya and the Last Dragon was set in Kumandra, as you can see below.

The animators traveled throughout South east Asia, which includes Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Peninsular Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Andaman and Nicobar Islands (India), Brunei, East Malaysia, East Timor, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Singapore. They took their time to study the elements of the cultures and geography to bring it to screen As you can see below, there is a lot of similarities in geography, food, clothing and much more.

Then we took the opportunity the VR the area.

Then we created a mixed Asian menu using the recipes below. It was so good that we can’t wait to do it again.
