Build a Story in MineCraft It is #MinecraftMonday and with a lack of ELA lessons lately, plus with it being so much colder in November, we decided to work on a lesson that will take more time. Back in January we covered the Fairytale lesson, but this time you and the kids will create your own story. Which is also perfect because its NaMoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). Okay to be fair you won’t be writing a novel unless you absolutely want to but you will need the basics for your story. You will need to include: Characters Setting – When and Where Action- What Happened Motivation- Why and how did it happen. As you can see from the graph above, you will need to have different points in your story no matter how short or long it is. Once your story is written now it is time to bring it into Minecraft. Create your character looks. Then create your setting, either you will need to build it or find a mod to download to use. Then set the time of day. Lastly, have fun acting it out. For more of a complex lesson and for those kids who enjoy the technological aspects, you can screen record and edit it into a short film.
