Minecraft Redstone It is #MinecraftMonday and today we are going to learn more about Redstone. Redstone is one of the more advanced elements in Minecraft. You can obtain it either by mining a block of redstone ore or by acquiring it from mob/dungeon loot. Redstone occurs across certain biomes in lower levels of the terrain. You are more likely to see redstone ore in caverns in cube-shaped veins. After you mine enough redstone ore, it has multiple uses and applications. You can use redstone in nearly limitless ways, but some of the most common uses are as follows: Traps Lighting Crafting Automatic farms Automatic doors Defending your home Moving and storing items While redstone is a block and item in the game, the term can refer to all items that can interact with or be controlled by redstone. Some items in the redstone family may not be immediately obvious, such as the following: Observer blocks Hoppers Pistons Doors Pressure plates and more While holding a lump of redstone dust, right-click the ground to place it there, at which point it becomes a redstone wire. In its default state, the redstone wire is uncharged, which means that it does nothing. When the redstone is powered by a device such as a lever, tripwire, button, or pressure plate, the wire begins to glow red and transmits power to open doors, ignite explosives, or activate dispensers. The following figure shows a pressure plate connected to a mechanism that ignites three explosives at one time. We found some really fun mods to explore and understand how red stone works. The next bit is quite a challenge and will take you a bit. Build your own house and use red stone to create those automatic doors and more.
