It is Friday…. that means its #Movienightfriday and we are going to the beat of our own drum. Okay, to clarify, this is not the first time in the last few days we have watched this film. We absolutely LOVE it. I have a whole review on alexneznamy.com if you are looking for more kid friendly films. Back to our point. We had so much fun with this film. Now usually when we talk about Florida with the kiddo we are talking Florida Man incidents, alligators or theme parks. That is not all of Florida though, am I right? Vivo bring Florida and Cuba into a beautiful musical film. The music alone will have you up on your feet.
Speaking of which, we talked about the different styles of music there are plus instruments that were shown in the clip above. Then we mapped out where the film took place and VR the regions.
Then we made a Floridian and Cuban stylish menu to match our mood

FLAN DE CALABAZA – PUMPKIN FLAN – Pandemonium Noshery

“Flan de calabaza, or pumpkin flan, is delicious. I’m sure you already knew that. I even suspected that, but gauging by the number of years it’s taken me to get around to this recipe I wasn’t really sold. And I was wrong. Flan is popular all through Latin America, in fact it is probably the most well loved dessert. But it turns out it didn’t originate there, no, in fact it started with the Romans! Who would have though? They fell but flan was more resilient and hung around, eventually being embraced by the Spanish. The Spanish of course brought it with to the Americas. And there it was adopted, claimed, and made with love on a regular basis. ” – Juli
